The Freeport Community Band traces its roots back to 1921 when Bill Dayton organized a band in Freeport, Long Island, New York.

The Freeport Community Band is primarily a sight-reading band.  

Except when preparing for a concert, we normally read 7-10 different compositions at every rehearsal just to become familiar with band repertoire, and for the enjoyment of playing together.

We are a community band whose members have quite diverse backgrounds and come from the counties of Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau, and Suffolk.

Spring 2012: Do you have concert band experience? All sections are open for membership, but we are especially looking for flute, drum and horn players. Contact us if you care to join.
