Welcome to the Freeport Community Band
Who Are We?
The Freeport Community Band is an all-volunteer concert band made up of musicians from all walks of life; from high school students to retirees, from hobbyists to professionals, and from all occupations. Our members join us not only from Freeport and its neighboring towns in Nassau County, but from Suffolk, Kings, and Queens Counties as well.
Our members may have many differences, but our love of music is what brings us together. In fact, some of us have been playing together for over 30 years! The Freeport Community Band meets regularly to practice and become acquainted with all forms of music (old standards to modern day). Our extensive library includes marches, showtunes, rock ‘n roll, opera, folk songs, and symphonic pieces. We also perform between two and four free concerts for the public each season (September through December and January through July). Our venues have included Sagamore Hill, the Elmont Memorial Library, the Sousa Band Shell in Port Washington, and the Freeport Esplanade.
The Freeport Community Band is an affiliate of the Adult Education Department of the Freeport School District and a proud member of the Association of Concert Bands (https://www.acbands.org/).
